Today’s Lesson:
Why Be Equipped? Judgement
1 Peter 2:9-12
A 2022 Barna study found that 37% of self-identified Christians felt unequipped or unqualified to disciple others.[1] But it’s not just statistics that reveal the need for equipping; the apostle Paul wrote that God authored the Bible to equip people because everyone needs it (2 Timothy 3:16-17). However, equipping does not follow a simple, three-step process. Instead, it involves investing oneself in Scripture and in others over a lifetime. The demands of equipping raise the question, “Why pursue equipping if it requires so much from us?”
This lesson begins a short series that explores several reasons we equip ourselves to serve God. So, why pursue equipping? We pursue equipping because judgment is real.
