Values

We value fellowship

At “151st Street” you will find a group of people who love the Lord and who cherish our relationships with each other.  We realize that we are called together to help each other serve God as faithfully as possible.  At announced service times and informally through the week, we spend a lot of time with each other.

We value doctrine

We believe that the Bible brings us to a faith in God that equips us to live godly lives in an ungodly world.  Biblical doctrines are not dry rules and regulations.  They are relevant truths that provide a solid foundation for lives that glorify our Creator and bring us the eternal blessings that He has promised.  In the long run, everything that God asks us to believe or do is good for us.

We value evangelism

We believe that the fundamental problem faced by all of us is sin, and that eternal salvation is the most urgent need we have.  As a church, we have many ministries that provide fellowship and encouragement, and that offer support for dealing with life’s challenges.  But we also believe that conversion and church membership must not be focused more on our preferred church programs, worship styles and ministries than on each person’s need to respond properly to the saving story of Jesus.
