Deacons
The word that most Bibles translate as “deacon” means servants or ministers. Deacons are to be men trusted by the congregation for their faithfulness to the Lord and dedication to the congregation (1 Timothy 3:8-13).
To allow the elders to focus on the spiritual leading of the congregation, deacons are called to manage and coordinate the various programs and ministries of the church (Acts 6:1-7). The elders establish objectives and parameters for each area of service and then entrust the deacons to make things happen.
